And the fans rejoiced as Sonic the Hedgehog is added as a playable character in the online capable Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Nintendo has confirmed the news bringing joy to the fans of Sonic everywhere. Sonic the Hedgehog will be able to turn into Super Sonic as one of his super moves as an addition to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This is one of the most hoped-for additions by fans of the game.
Ever since fans were disappointed by not seeing Sonic in Gamecube's Super Smash Bros. Melee, and the word went out that Super Smash Bros. Brawl was in the works, Sonic has been on their holiday wish list. It was even revealed last year at E3 that Konami's Solid Snake would make an appearance in the Brawl. Nintendo stated that the character lineup is still not officially complete...yet.
Nintendo did mention an online co-op mode stating that the Wi-Fi play option was coming together quite nicely. It was not long ago that Nintendo would not comment about the online component of the game in any way. The bad news however is that the game has been pushed back to 2008 so it looks like Super Smash Bros. Brawl will not make it in time for fan's holiday wish list this year.
