The research tool matches a word or phrase against actual searches performed by our users. The resulting number is the count of searches that contain the word or phrase you research. Therefore the higher the number, the more popular/demanded the product, service, job, etc. This can be powerful if used properly. For instance, a seller with the option to sell widgets or gadgets may wish to know which of the two is more demanded. Researching "widget" and then "gadget" would give objective information that the seller may use to decide which of the two items is a better investment of time and money. The research utility works much like searching. When researching, the longer the search string, the narrower or more limited the results. For instance, if "gadget" results in 15 searches and "widget" in 30, then "gadget widget" would count the number of searches that contain both "gadget" and "widget", which is probably less than 15. |
